Retail & Plant Maintenance Associate

We are a boutique NYC plant shop and interiorscape/landscape design company with locations in the West Village, Upper West Side and Chelsea. Our team is passionate about greenery and dedicated to creating lush, inspiring spaces. We’re looking for a dynamic individual(s) to join us in a hybrid role, splitting their time between our retail stores and our Field Horticulture team.

This role is perfect for someone who loves plants, enjoys engaging with customers, and thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment. As a Retail Associate, you’ll help customers select plants, provide care advice, and ensure our stores remain beautiful, inspiring and lush. As a Plant Maintenance Associate, you’ll work with our Field Horticulture team to maintain and care for client installations, keeping plants healthy and thriving in various interior and exterior settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with plants and indoor horticulture required.
  • Experience in customer service required.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and transport plants, soil, and other materials as needed.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and a team player.
  • Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
  • Ability to travel to maintenance sites around NYC via public transportation.
  • Drivers license preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retail Sales Associate (In-Store)

  • Assist customers with plant selection, care guidance, and product recommendations.
  • Process transactions, assist with visual merchandising, and help ensure a welcoming shopping experience.
  • Monitor store inventory and assist with restocking and receiving shipments.
  • Educate customers about the wide range of horticultural services our business offers.

Plant Maintenance Associate (Field Horticulture Team)

  • Travel to client sites to maintain and care for indoor and outdoor plant installations.
  • Water, prune, clean, and fertilize plants to ensure optimal health and appearance.
  • Identify and address plant health issues, including pest management and disease prevention.
  • Work with the team to install new plants and refresh existing plant designs.

$20-$23/hour, commensurate with experience
